June 2023 Work Life ‘balance’
I say the word ‘balance’ with a side dish of sarcasm. There is no balance. Thats ok though - I have come to realise that balance is another social media unattainable buzz word. When you are invested in something (i.e. raising children), then other areas get completely neglected. I have made peace with it.
From running to walking
I had full intentions of running the Thames Path Challenge in September but I have asked to be moved to the walking category instead. Have been ill so much since Christmas that I can’t seem to get back to running at all. Love walking though so all is good - still in my barefoot shoes. Love them.
The power of positivity
Listened to a great podcast interview with Rob Dyrdek recently, he is businessman at the highest level and into making his life as empowered as possible. A believer in the law of attraction, ungraded nutrition and daily routines. It got me thinking about levelling up my life. Working on it……………
January 2023 Head above the parapet
Baby Elisa was born 21st November last year and it has been a whirlwind couple of months. We had forgotten the lack of sleep fog that descends over daily life. It is feeling a little easier now and we are settling into a schedule.
Barefoot running
I am back running (very slowly) and have been spending some time transitioning to barefoot shoes. Perfectly timed with the release of the book ‘Born To Run 2’ which is an excellent read.
Book progression
My book outline is much clearer now. I understand my target market, the objective of the book and how I want to write it - I am finding that dictating sections of it makes the words flow better - trying out Dragon Anywhere at the moment. Still finding my way with it but it is so much easier than sitting staring at a blank page.
November 2022
Waiting for our baby to arrive
My wife is due anytime now. I’m getting nervous and excited!
Our first child was born in lockdown, we are hoping for a very different birthing experience this time.
Started to write a book
Being diagnosed with ADHD recently, I have started meds and feel so much better. My improved focus has led me to want to write a book for women.
Morning pages
I have revisted Julia Cameron’s excellent book The Artist’s Way and am doing morning pages again. It is a create game-changer.
